The dashboard

A bird health dashboard that fits on one screen

This is where you land each day. Your bird at the top, the record button right below, what is due, and six tiles that say in words whether anything has been flagged.

Where the app opens

What the bird dashboard shows

Home keeps the day’s essentials together: who your bird is, a way to record, the care coming up, any tracker you have on, and six tiles.

The tiles

Six tiles, a few plain words each

Words first, with a coloured dot beside them. Tap a tile to go to its screen.

Vet exam

Worked out from the last avian vet exam you logged, once a year by default and every 6 months for a senior bird. The words are Up to date, Due soon, Overdue or Not logged.

Beak and nails

The beak check, nail check and baths from the care calendar, with wing feathers if you turned that on. It says how many are close or late.

Cage

Cage paper and bowls, the deep clean, the perch and foot check, and the light and sleep check, added up the same way.

Activity

Active today with the minutes, or Nothing yet today. There is no minute goal, because we found no published one.

Droppings

Your latest droppings check from the last 3 days, in words. Blood, black droppings or red urine go straight to the most urgent answer.

Water

Whether fresh water went in today. A note that your bird is drinking a lot more or a lot less sends you to an avian vet within a day.

Under the tiles sit the last daily check, then ways into the vet report and the rest of the health tools.

The thinking

Built so you do not need a manual

Two taps to any health tool

Tap All health tools, then the one you want. Each tile goes to its own screen in a single tap. There is a lot in this app, and this keeps it from feeling like a maze.

One rule, not two

A tile and the screen it opens use the same rules.

Blank never reads as fine

A tile with nothing behind it says Not logged, and tells you what to log. Beak and nails and Cage can turn green once one item in the group is logged, so check the calendar for items never logged.

A clear dashboard is not a clean bill of health

Birds hide illness and often keep eating when sick, so a steady weight or a run of normal checks does not prove your bird is well. The app says this on the screens themselves. Green means nothing has been flagged in what you logged.

If your bird looks unwell, do not wait for a tile to change. Read the signs of a sick bird and call your avian vet.

Questions

Frequently asked

What does the ParrotSense dashboard show?
Your bird's photo, species, life stage and latest weight in grams, a record button, your last reading, what care is due, any condition you are tracking, today's medication doses, and six tiles: Vet exam, Beak and nails, Cage, Activity, Droppings and Water.
Does a green tile mean my bird is healthy?
No. It means nothing has been flagged in what you logged. Birds hide illness until late, so a clear dashboard never proves a bird is well.
Can I keep more than one bird on it?
Yes. Once you have two birds, their names sit at the top of Home and one tap switches between them. Each has their own records.
What if I have not logged anything yet?
A tile with no data reads Not logged and tells you what to log. It never shows as fine.
Why is there no score out of 5 or target weight on the dashboard?
Published keel scales disagree with each other, and we found no qualifying source for a healthy weight range in these species. So the app shows your bird's change from their own baseline instead, with no keel score. More in our bird weight guide.
Does the dashboard send me reminders?
Not today. What is due shows on Home and in the Care calendar when you open the app. The app does not send push notifications.
Does Home still open if my subscription lapses?
Yes. Home opens, and your records stay viewable and exportable. Adding new entries, the food tools and the sound analysis need an active plan.

A sick bird should never come down to money

If your bird has a diagnosed condition and the bills are hard, email us your Support ID with a vet document showing the diagnosis. We open every tracking, records and care tool for you, free of charge. No means test, no haggling.

ParrotSense gives you information and organization, not a diagnosis. Health facts come from published veterinary sources and, for typical sizes, species databases. Where advice is our own, we say so. Your avian vet is always the authority.
